Erasmus D. Seaman aged 76 years, a native of Montgomery County and resident in or near New Market all his life, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Samuel N. Warbritton at that place this (Saturday) morning about 7:20 o’clock. Hardening of the arteries and cirrhosis of the liver caused death after an illness of about two months. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock at the Christian Church in New Market and burial will be in Indian Creek Hill cemetery. Mr. Seaman was born in this county Nov 19, 1834 and was the son of Benjamin F. and Winifred (Jones) Seaman).  He engaged in farming in Scott Township until advancing age compelled him to retire. He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Nancy H. Seaman and three children: Mrs. George E. Davis and Mrs. WC Miller, living on farms near New Market and a son, OM Seaman of Los Angeles. Mrs. Henry D. Servies of Crawfordsville is a niece of the decedent. - kbz
